Please remember, if you or anyone in the bridal party is doing a wedding updo or curls, don’t wash your hair the morning of the wedding. For best results hair should be washed the day before and kept free of styling products, otherwise the curls, in particular, will not last as long on the day of your wedding.
Dirty hair is not always better. Some brides believe dirty is better and don’t wash their hair. When your hair has too much oil it makes it difficult to style and weighs down the hairstyle, Not to mention it will really shine through in all those bridals photos you have planned while you’re getting ready with your girls. Always wash your hair the night before the wedding.
I’m fine working with dirty hair; it holds better with heated styling tools such as a curling iron. The best styles for dirty hair are usually top knots, because they need to have added texture. And yes, the hair holds the style better when it is not freshly washed.
I had been using a great Matte Dry Shampoo from TIGI for all my Brides, Bridesmaids, Mothers, guests and other models for the photo shoot. It has no show white dust. Always put under a small section then with the next section spray 10 inches away from the hair. Give a head massage to spread around the head. It is great to work through the hair to give it boost and texture to the hair ready to start working on your hair styles…and always use hair spray afterwards!
Skip the conditioner. Even though slightly dirty hair gives great texture, the same texture could also be achieved by using the right styling products. Hair products, hair spray, dry shampoo, etc, are all designed to give your hair the grit and hold it needs to keep your hairstyle looking perfect for your entire wedding day, no matter what kind of hair you have!
